Will I Go to Heaven When I Die?

Eternity is real. Every soul will spend eternity in one of two places—either Heaven or Hell. The Bible describes Heaven as the Father’s house in John 14, a place prepared for those who belong to Him. In contrast, Scripture speaks of a place of torment, marked by weeping and gnashing of teeth. As beautiful and glorious as Heaven will be, Hell will be a place utterly void of grace and mercy—and it will be forever.
Given the choice, every person would desire to go to Heaven. However, the Bible is clear: there is only one way to get there. That way is Jesus Christ.

1. God loves you with an everlasting love.

  • John 3:16  For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Heaven is not a reward for good people—it is a gift from a loving God.

2. Every person is born with a sin nature.

  • Romans 3:23  For all have sinned, and come short of the Glory of God.

Sin is universal. No one meets God’s perfect standard on their own.

3. Sin carries the penalty of death.

  • John 3:18   He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Sin separates us from God and leaves us condemned apart from Christ.

4. Jesus Christ paid your sin debt.

  • Romans 5:8   But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

On the cross, Jesus took our punishment so we could receive forgiveness of our sins and be saved eternally through His sacrifice.

5. Receive Christ by faith as your Savior.

  • Romans 10:9  That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved...  Romans 10:13   For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Salvation is not earned—it is received by repentance and faith in Jesus Christ alone. Today, You have teh greatest opportunity ever afforded you and it is free. Call upon His name, repent of your sins, believe in His promise, and be eternally saved.
